Whether
you're an experienced or a first time mindfulness meditator, the CD illustrated
on this page can help you learn how to use this 2,500 year old practice
to heal your emotions. Over the past decade I have been investigating the
relationship between psychotherapy and mindfulness meditation, and by now
I'm convinced that, for the Westerner, healing the emotions through the
use of both methods is more powerful than using either one alone. They fit
together in many ways; both call for greater awareness, and through it,
a conscious, increasingly precise inquiry into the nature of self. This
path is described in Emotional Healing through Mindfulness Meditation.
The CD contains four mindfulness psychotherapy meditations. Each one begins
with a reflection on meditation including; the power of stillness, the tool
called focused awareness, the state of mind called equanimity or matter-of
factness, and lastly, the experience of impermanence or ever-changing nature
of this world. Each reflection is followed by instructions for a meditation
that, with practice, can move you through your emotions into the peace that
arises within - the peace that brings insight.
